Equipment/Materials Required For All
PRO Courses
At this point you are considering completing a
professional level course, you should by now have your own diving
equipment. Course prices do not include equipment rental. If you are considering buying some equipment ask for our latest
"Equipment Special Offer".
As with most Professional Courses the more resources
available to you whilst attending/preparing for your PRO Course the
better. We understand that most people are on a budget, and don't
want to lug heavy manuals around with them than what is necessary. This
is why we have many of the "additional" books on our PADI
Bookshelf; for you to refer to if need be. There are a number of

Enrol in a PADI ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR COURSE
This course is designed to
build upon the Divemaster's abilities to organise and supervise dive
activities while concentrating on developing teaching skills.
Through independent study, Knowledge Development Sessions and
Practical Application you will learn to construct effective
Knowledge Development presentations as well as Conducting Confined
and Open Water Teaching Presentation; so that you can conduct some
of the PADI Programmes. The Assistant Instructor Course is a useful
stepping stone for students that wish to work in the industry and
also for candidates that wish to carry on to become an PADI Open

The two steps
to becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor are to complete an IDC
and pass a PADI Instructor Examination (IE). Our goal is to prepare you
to be a competent professional PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. You are
guided by a first class team who will help you develop your abilities
and practice teaching skills. The IDC is the core part in an Instructors
Development; the purpose of the IDC is for the candidate to 'understand'
the PADI system and all its programmes. At Subway Dive Centre we do not
just want you to pass your IE but also to feel confident and find your
place in our exciting industry.

older than 1 year) Medical Statement signed by a licensed physician

Submit proof of First

Attending a PADI
INSTRUCTOR EXAMINATION
(IE)
The
PADI Instructor Examination (IE) is held after every
scheduled IDC; an Instructor Examiner, who is a member of the
PADI Staff, conducts this programme. This programme is conducted over a
two day period, evaluating the candidates presentation skills: both in
the Classroom, Confined and Open Water.

for the Instructor Examination:

Become an EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE INSTRUCTOR
After
completing your DM/AI or IE the first thing you should do is complete
your Emergency First Response Instructor Course. Changes in Standards
effective from March 2009 mean that all candidates must be EFRI to
qualify as Open Water Scuba Instructors. This Course gives
you the necessary training needed to certify students with the following

Become a PADI IDC STAFF
INSTRUCTOR
An IDC Staff Instructor can
assist Course Directors in conducting PADI IDCs. A PADI Staff Instructor
can independently teach Assistant Instructor Courses, as long as they
are in association with a PADI 5 Star IDC Centre. The first 2 days of
the course you will be familiarizing yourself with the Instructor
Development process and the Assistant Instructor Course.
Note: Instructor Candidates can do no more than
three dives per day.
*Instructor Candidates must have Enriched Air Diver
Qualification to participate (ask for further details)
** Instructor Candidates must have Cavern
Qualification to participate (ask for further details).
Certification and successful application is dependant on
the candidate having a minimum of Ten dives in the specialty applied for
(These ten dives can be completed after the Specialty Instructor
programme, but must be completed before Application).
You will also be
participating in a complete IDC, throughout this course you will be
perfecting your presentation and evaluation skills.
